About us
Our Group started life as long ago as 1981, but has existed in its current format as a “Living History” Group since 1996 – just after the Old Comrades Association was resurrected by two ex 43rd members, Roy Merrett and Alan Dracup.
Now that there are no surviving Old Comrades, we continue as a Living History Group, yet 43rd Recce has a much more serious commitment to regimental history than most…

XXX (30) Corps 2024
Commemorating the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden
XXX (30) Corps were the ‘Garden’ (ground) force of the momentous WW2 allied operation, in the push to Arnhem and Nijmegen. This began from Leopoldberg, Belgium, on 17 Sept 1944 and demanded an epic advance of 70 miles / 120 km. 30 Corps comprised Wessex Infantry Division supported by Guards Armoured Division. 43rd Recce were the spearhead of this operation.
